365.

i have been the master slacker blogger this year (and last).
things keep distracting me.
i am taking a bit of a purposeful break this month. next month that will all change and i shall become a 365 er. even bought myself my domain as an early treat (motivator).
my mission is to snap a photo a day, making 365 over 2012.
*edit*these will be posted as often as I can but no longer than a week shall divide posts. posting everyday is just crazy town.
my gratitude journal for the year. i was inspired by this blog.
the pretty lady over there points out that anything you do for 21 straight days is habit forming. this one seems better than smoking or crack, so i am in.
crossing my fingers from the 1st of january and the 21 days following that.
easy peasy.
any takers?
happy holidays folks and see you in 2012.
wishing you all the joy and silliness you can find.

p.s. yes, indeedy, i did add snow to an already out of focus tree shot. feeling the festive spirit right down to my bones.

the funny thing about blogging.

i started my first blog when we lived in a very remote place. it was a way to keep in touch with others wanting to create and share. it was a journal of moments and memories. i went a long time with no comments, no visits, but it was mine and I didn't worry. then i started meeting some incredible, like minded souls. i was inspired and embraced.
things got busy. i had a baby that didn't sleep, i disappeared.

when i came back i wasn't the same and needed another place to remind myself of the simple things that matter. smelling the roses so to speak.
also somewhere along the way i started enjoying the comments people left. craved them and the understanding or acknowledgement they gave to me and my world. so here's the funny part. the come and go of blog friends. some are everlasting. some are like dating, you get to know each other and realise you don't have much in common, and some just gave you the cold shoulder from the start.
the funny thing about blogging is that even though i don't know you dear readers in real life, i adore you and wanted to say thank you for visiting me. making me smile. and growing with me.

y'all know who you are!

and the beat goes on.

The last week came and went quickly. Our small town continues to unite to fix the devastation of a force much stronger than we could control. Pieces are picked back up and things continue in a way as they were.
In my home, piper failed to notice anything was out of the norm.

she is her own force of nature.

some days i step on the fields of goodies strewn from spot to spot and forget to smile at the joy each holds. she wore my sandal on her hand while running with a book and yelling CHEESE MEOW. how cool are little people that those moves don't have them committed and instead swell our hearts and make us want to scoop them up and savour them.
Sucking out the marrow of life.

i bought this garlic at the farmers market. organic. dirty. $5 a head. ouch. it was that awkward moment of realising it was a bit rich for me but being in too deep to a conversation with the farmer who grows them. once upon a time it was shoes that i would pay far too much for and feel the twang as i handed over my credit card. now it is garlic as i pinch through a change purse for some coins. my times change.

The op shop gods have smiled down on me this week.

They smiled down on piper too and we have little people to share her love of digging and running.

The white one is queen size. $5. The other double $3.

as a teacher of little people i often forget to bring some of the ideas to my home. this recipe makes fabulous play dough. milk tops and jar lids for cookie cutters, a block as a roller, some play pans, we had a full on dough party. it has the added benefit of being a salty snack.

tree is up. daggy decorations are hanging. yes, friends that is indeed a sparkly can of bud.
tis the seasons folks. whoop. it. up.

p.s. any idea why picasa refuses to make my photos big?
